Aoife is an award-winning folk singer and songwriter based in Dublin, Ireland. She was born into the legendary Black family - daughter of Francis Black and niece of Mary Black - but she has assembled a slew of honors on her own accord.
Her recent accolades in 2018, have seen her named Best Folk Act at the Irish Post Music Awards (IRE), as well as Emerging Artist of the Year at the Live Ireland Awards (US). Aoife’s single “All Along the Wild Atlantic Way” hit #1 on the Irish Folk Charts and knocked Ed Sheeran off that top spot. It was also named “Song of the Year” at the Irish Folk Music Awards in 2017.
Aoife is a true veteran of the Irish and Folk Festival circuit, having performed and headlined at dozens of festivals across the continents. Her appearances include The Milwaukee Irish Music Festival, The National Folk Festival and the Port Fairy Folk Festival in Australia, Dublin Irish Festival in Ohio, Michigan Irish Music Festival, Mood Indigo Cultural Festival in India, Festival Interceltique de Lorient in France, the London Feis, and the Temple Bar Trad Fest in Ireland to name only a few.
Aoife has a dynamic and profound voice, which explores the emotional depths of her lyrics, leaving the audience entranced. Her music has a broad creative scope but is largely influenced by her own roots in folk and traditional Irish music. She will be supported by Andy Meaney on guitar.
